Promotional materials, 1900-1985, 1920-1929 and 1977-1985 (bulk)

Collection encompasses various forms of promotional materials for films filmed at Astoria Studios and elsewhere. Large series of advertising posters for movies including WAY DOWN EAST (D.W. Griffith), THE WARRIORS, HAIR, AFRICAN SAFARI, TOM THUMB, SOUP FOR ONE, PARK ROW, THE WORLD ACCORDING TO GARP, WOLFEN, and THE WIZ. A few posters are for foreign made movies. Other promotional materials include lobby cards for numerous movies, most not made at Astoria Studios; window cards, larger than lobby cards, for many American movies; and some posters which advertise record and radio equipment. Also newspapers and magazine advertisements, many appearing in SATURDAY EVENING POST, for many Paramount pictures, 1920-1928; numerous ads for Gloria Swanson in ZAZA; and ads which appeared in PARAMOUNT PRESS SHEET.
